The Smoking Goat is Greg Beuthin’s long-time online alias – and this is Greg’s website and blog.
Greg is the senior project manager for the U.S. office of AF83, a Drupal-focused web development shop. He is also the U.S. lead for Mapovino, a new vineyard-mapping and wine-enthusiast community web site. Greg is the U.S. liaison for French innovation technology company faberNovel which, along with AF83, is an anchor tenants of the PariSoMa coworking office in San Francisco. Formerly, Greg was the Director of Technology for a San Francisco independent progressive school. From 1996-2006 worked at CompuMentor as a technology consultant, and has a deep and rich experience in strategic technology planning and implementation, online innovation and project management.
While not a coder, Greg also has several years’ experience managing, implementing and administering Drupal websites, and is a member of the Drupal community.
This site expresses on Greg’s personal views on his work (technology, open-source tools and online communities) and his personal interests (wine and food). Greg’s previous CompuMentor-affiliated blog, Ext311, covered many similar topics, focusing on nonprofit technology and arts organizations.
