The Smoking Goat is Greg Beuthin’s long-time online alias - and this is Greg’s website and blog.

Greg is currently working as U.S. lead for Mapovino, a new vinyard-mapping and wine-enthusiast community web project by French-American company AF83.  In this role he is also the U.S. contact for web-development inquiries for AF83, as well as one of the anchor tenants of the PariSoMa  coworking office in San Francisco.

Greg is also currently a part-time Director of Technology for a San Francisco independent progressive school.  Formerly, Greg worked at CompuMentor as a technology consultant for a decade, and has a deep and rich experience in strategic technology planning and implementation, online innovation and project management.

While not a coder, Greg also has several years’ experience managing, implementing and administering Drupal websites, and is a member of the Drupal community.

This site focuses primarily on Greg’s work (technology, open-source tools and online communities) and his personal interests (wine and food). Greg’s previous CompuMentor-affiliated blog, Ext311, covered many similar topics, focusing on nonprofit technology and arts organizations.

Greg is also a writer, percussionist and performer - you can read Greg’s thoughts on theatre and performance over here.
